First thing if you’re flying or driving to Amsterdam make sure you take hand sanitiser to avoid unwanted swab tests from customs as last night’s cheeky bag could come back to haunt you!
Landing into dam
If you’re driving, try and get a Euro Tunnel which gets you into dam early so the roads are empty and you can make as much mistakes as you want as if you remember – you are driving on the other side of the road. Also if you are driving, you will need to have with you a: safety triangle, breathalyser & high visibility vest. As if you are stopped by police it is ILLEGAL to be without these on the roads.
Now for the juicy bit.
Make sure you take a big coat, dam is freezing! Also don’t be afraid to hire a bike to get round a bit faster, but if you don’t mind walking dam is a nice place to walk around – the old buildings, monuments, statues, very pleasing on the eye.
Now for the real juicy bits…
If you’re going there for Red Light District, fucking sort yourself out mate! There is more things to do in Amsterdam than Red Lights – ie. smoke till your eyes bleed red as it is LEGAL over there. There are many day time activities to do, boat trips with a twist, I passed 3 different smoking boat trips blasting reggae music and looked like everyone was having a right good time. There are Madame Tussauds, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not and of course The Amazing Smoke Loud & BlueCheese Smoking Tour, which you can look forward to in 2020 in Dam, Barcelona & Cali – stay tuned for updates.
Also check out part 2 of the blog, covering the smoking tour, shops, strains and more.
